Fr. M.S. Yuhanon Ramban

Warden of the Seminary


Fr. Dr. M. S. Yuhanon Ramban is currently lecturer at the Orthodox Theological Seminary, Kottayam. He also serves as Warden and Chaplain of the Seminary. Following his graduation from the Kerala University, he began his theological education at the Orthodox Theological Seminary at Kottayam where he completed the Graduate in Sacred Theology (diploma) and Bachelor in Divinity degree. Fr. Yuhanon Ramban is a multiple masters degree holder. He has achieved M.A. (Master of Arts) in Linguistics, M.A. in History, M.Ed. (Master in Education) from the M.S. University in Baroda. He has also completed a Master in Theology from St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Seminary at New York, where he also did a Doctorate in Ministry. He has been lecturer at the OTS Kottayam since 2009.

His principal areas of teaching are Christian Education, Personal and Vocational Formation of Christian Ministers and Study Methods for Theological Studies.

Fr. Yuhanon Ramban worked as parish priest in Orthodox churches around Gujarat for over 30 years. He was Principal of the Higher Secondary English Medium School in Baroda for about 20 years. Students under his direct supervision have topped the State Rank List in Gujarat. He is also the mastermind behind “Sunday School Teachers as Torch Bearers of Change”, a pioneer educative presentation for Sunday School teachers of the Malankara Orthodox Church.
